It was a busy day getting ready to leave. At 3:45 we locked up and went to the lobby
and our driver, Jose, was just pulling up.
He got us to MIA in about 45 minutes, had a bit of a time finding the
gates for Qatar (they were the very first ones in the airport).
We checked in, got through security (no TSE pre on these
flights), and went to the Business Class Lounge. I was having a bad “tickle” in my throat so
went and bought some lozenges and Airborne tablets.
About 45 minutes prior to departure time, we went to the
gate. They told us that there were less
than 100 people on the flight, but we had “huge pods” that converted down to a
flat bed for the night. We each watched
a movie, had dinner and then “laid down” for the night. I was a bit concerned as they was LOTS of
coughing going on around me. Ugh oh!
We were informed that instead of it being a 16.5 hour
flight, we were going to make it to Doha in 13 hours. Gee, only 13 hours. Off to sleep we went. Of course, Tim slept much more soundly that I
did.
